As fellow stitches/crafters/people-looking-for creative-outlet, I hope you understand my tardiness on this post! Last night I got very wrapped up in fixing the bottom left corner of my Once Upon A Time Sampler. I had mis-stitched by one stitch. I did not discover my mistake until I was close to joining two sections of border and they did not line up. After about 15 minutes of counting and recounting I found the problem. This led to about 50 stitches having to come out and be perfected. Now it is fixed and I have almost completed the bottom half of border. My plan next is to work on the top half and finally start stitching Snow White. In order to keep calm, I've been watching Season 1 of Once. Love it!
I have been working steadily on my Woodland Sampler by stitching a month each week. I finished September and hope to work on October next week.
Other projects have not been fitting into my days so that is all for updates.
For a little bit about me...
I like to create and play! There are adventures with my friends and husband that I get way too excited about: Climbing mountains, running races, roadside attractions, brewery tours, kayaking, visiting the beach, dress up parties, and just about anything else we can fit in. My husband and I are also avid golfers which I have found greatly cuts into my creative time, however, I am hooked! Stitching is something that I have found that let's me relax between all of our crazy ideas. Other relaxing outlets include reading and knitting. I have attempted quilting and have a lovely quilt patiently waiting for a binding...
My home is decorated in a simple quirky prim style. I tend to switch out my finished stitcheries with my mood, highlighting favorites and seasonal pieces.
This year I hope to keep my current initiative and approach December with Christmas gifts made, a shorter list of WIPs, and a scrapbook full of adventures!

Hate it when I make a mistake with cross-stitch which seems to happen more now than it used to. My eyes are a bit older. :) Love that sampler! I tend to stick with small projects now and find that crochet is a whole lot quicker and easier to travel with. Sounds like you have a full and wonderful life. Best wishes, Tammy

ReplyDeleteLove your stitchery! I hate it when I mess up and have to take out! And I have messed up badly enough to have to just start ovver a few times. The problem is, I really have a hard time finishing the second version. I noly have one of those I need to begin again, but the first experience was so bad, I can hardly think about it! Maybe I will just move on!

ReplyDeleteYears ago I cross stitched a Monopoly board for my brother. My SIL decided that she too wanted to do one. She did hers on a much larger count. Then her twin sister decided she wanted to do one. I never saw her twin's but heard that when she got to a corner, it didn't line up AND she left it. And she did it on consignment. I could not believe it. Your work is beautiful. You have a great idea to get to December with Christmas presents made. In addition to cross stitch, I enjoy knitting and quilting among other crafts. I'm glad you are growing your blog.

Hello from GYB party! I love "Once Upon A Time" also! I am ecstatic that they have finally gotten season 2 on Netflix! I finished season 1 several months ago. Now am working my way thru the second season. I keep missing the show on tv because it is on at the same time Hubby watches "Duck Dynasty"! You know who controls the remote in our home! lol
